Frequently asked questions
What size menstrual cup do I choose?
There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to size. As a basic guide if you’re under 30 (pelvic muscles relax as we age), and have a light to medium period then the Size 1 is most likely the size for you. If you have a heavier period, are over 30 or have had a full term pregnancy (regardless of vaginal or C section birth) then the size Size 2 will work best for you. Still cant decide? Why not try a Flex Pack which includes 2 body cups, one of each size.
How do I clean my menstrual cup?
It’s easy!Bbefore each period and at the end of each cycle you should sterilise your cup. This can be done by boiling the cup for 20 minutes in a saucepan with enough water to fully emerse the cup.
For cleaning during your period carefully remove cup and empty contants down the sink. Rince thoroughly with warm water. It is also reccomended to use a mild, unscented, oil free wash between use. Some peole like to use a body wipe to clean between use. If using a wipe please make sure that it is also mild, unscented and oil free.
How long can I leave my Body Cup in?
According to Australian TGA guidelines menstrual cup duration of use should not exceed 8 hours. After 8 hours menstraral cups should be removed and cleaned. IMPORTANT: Menstrual cups have been associated with Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS). TSS is a rare but serious disease that may cause death. Read and keep the enclosed information that will be delivered with your Kind Body Cup.
Why use a menstrual cup?
I love choices. When it comes to periods choice is also important. Kind Body Cups have many advantage over tampons and menstral pads. Kind Body Cups will give you up to 8 hours of protection. Unlike tampons menstral cups do not alter the natural moisutre levels of your vagina.
$$$ How many tampons or sanitary pads do you use each month? How many is that a year? Doing my own calcualtions on average I used to spend $12 a month on menstral products. Thats around $150 a year. One Kind Body Cup can be used for 3 years. Thats a saving of over $400.
Kinder on the planet. Single use menstral products have a negative impact on our environment. What does not end up in landfill finds its way into our waterways and oceans. Small changes from every individual has a big impact on the health of our planet.
